Statement of Racial Equity
June 4, 2020
Medical Alternatives, Inc. is focused on improving the lives of the Traumatically Brain Injured. Our approach is person-centered, and drives successful outcomes by combining all facets of the individual’s life including their physical, emotional, mental and spiritual wellbeing.
Medical Alternatives, Inc. is also committed to providing a safe, just and supportive working environment for all of our employees. Recent national events have caused reflection, as we look at our core values and how we are supporting our communities at home and in the work place with actions as well as ideals.
The leadership team provides compassionate, committed service to our persons served, regardless of race. The compassion and commitment extends to the staff and administration, who have access to senior leadership day or night. Training for staff and administration is focused on the rights of the individual, as well as protecting staff members in the community.
By focusing on professional conduct, we hope to minimize the impact of systemic racial injustice. Recent events show clearly that complacency is not an option when it comes to serving the needs of our persons or employees.
We hope to live up to our core values of being an inspiration to the community, and a positive voice in the community.
Person Served Handbook
The Person Served Handbook is designed to help individuals and their support teams understand Medical Alternatives’ residential rehabilitation programs, services, and expectations. It outlines participant rights, responsibilities, and the person-centered approach that guides care across our programs.
Individuals receiving services are encouraged to review the handbook and discuss any questions with their assigned Case Coordinator.
